Abby, a close friend of mine gave me a newsletter by Tim Sales on “Building multi-level marketing part-time. So, I decided to share it with you.
Here, he was talking about the three resources everyone can’t be independent of. Whether you’re working any business full time or part time, you have 3 resources. Tim Sales said, he’d rather call it assets instead of resources. He made us understand that the person working the business part time has to be more efficient and effective with these three assets than the person working the business full time. That makes sense because you are only putting a few hours into it but the person working full time is putting all his time into the business.
Your three assets are money, time and attention.
Money: it is a thing you can exchange for things you want or need. It’s best thought of as something you use, trade or barter for something else.

Time: this is your second asset. There is a limited amount of time per day, a limited amount per year and a limited amount in your lifetime. But worrying about how little time you have left, wastes time. “Start each day knowing you have 24 hours to use.”

Attention: this is your third and final asset. Attention is defined as the ability or power to concentrate mentally. Time and attention go hand in hand with effective people. Optimally, where there is time being spent, there is also attention being spent. Your success is largely determined by the amount of attention you devote at any one given time.

Each person in this world has these three assets to use. Whether you fare well or you don’t and no matter what field of business you are in, that field is dependent on these three assets. No matter where you are or what you are, make good use of your assets.

When I have business opportunity meetings, I have to give out invitation cards to invite people to the seminar. Now there is something that goes with the giving out of the invitation cards. That is rejection rocket. When I first started giving out invitation cards, I felt really bad because I so badly want to reach out to people and then they give you that condescending look. It’s really painful because you get into the feeling of the person and you share the opportunity them because you want the person to have a better life. Sometimes, it’s thrown back into your face like you are the unfortunate one. Getting discouraged is not the answer because it’s all about them not you. You have to find the best way to talk to them and pass the message across. Rejection rocket is something you should get used to in Network Marketing. A motivational speaker, Les Brown said, “You have to do today what others won’t do, in order to get the things tomorrow others won’t have.” You’ve got to keep your dream alive.
I read somewhere that network marketing is one of the fastest-growing career opportunities in the world. Many companies are starting to operate as such. Millions of people just like you have abandoned dead-end jobs for the chance to achieve the dream of growing their own businesses and it will go on like that because network marketing is the future. Though, many have found out that the first year in network marketing is often the most challenging—and, for some, the most discouraging. Well, Les Brown also said, “You’ve got to make it okay to fail.” Why? When you fail or make mistakes, you get corrected and encouraged. You are driven to a state of been committed to your commitment of fulfilling your goals and keeping your dreams alive. In network marketing, rejection rockets only come to make you strong, to motivate you and act as a force; pulling you to your goal. A wise man said, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

On Saturday, the 18th day of November, I was at a grand business seminar that was conducted by my uplines, the honey fountain group ventures. I had a great time there and left the place feeling rejuvenated. I began looking at how I had conducted my honey parties (business opportunity presentations) and the different things I learnt, that would correct the mistakes I made. Well that’s not what I’m focusing on. If you are really interested, you can get a lot of valuable information at the honeyfountainblog.com.
One of the independent product consultants told us of her experience at the Vision Retreat in Hawaii. It was a wonderful experience. She was sponsored by Tahitian Noni International; the Access Marketing company we work with. It’s something I’d like to also experience for myself. I did a research on the Hawaii Islands because in a short while, I’m gonna take a vacation and I wanna spend it there.
Hawaii is the most remote island chain in the world. It has over 2,000 miles from the nearest landfall. The distance makes for splendid isolation – these Polynesian islands are removed from all else but one another.
Hawaii consists of eight major islands plus 124 minor islands, reefs and shoals, strung like a necklace across the Pacific for over 1,500 miles.
The eight major islands (which make up over 99% of the total land area) are:
Hawai’i (also known as the Big Island)
Maui
Kaho’olawe (uninhabited; temporary residential facilities)
Lanai
Moloka’i
O’ahu
Kaua’i
Ni’ihau (privately owned).

Each of the major islands has an identity all its own. Oahu is as different from Molokai and Maui as Kauai is from Lanai and the Big Island – each as varied and colorful as the official state flower, the hibiscus. With their collective mass of 4.1 million acres or 6,450 square miles, these islands form the fourth smallest state in the United States.
Beyond mere geography, to Hawaiians the land is “mother”. The Hawaiian word for land, ‘aina, literally means “that which feeds”. It doesn’t belong to us; we belong to it, and are part of it.
The newest island in the chain, Loihi, is forming – the newest land on earth, about 30 miles southwest of the active volcano Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawaii. Stretching toward the northwest from Loihi are the other major Hawaiian Islands: Big Island, and then Maui, Kahoolawe, Lanai, Molokai, Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau.
James Michener, “Hawaii’s real flowers are its people.”

Hawaii is probably the only place in the United States, if not the world, where every single racial group is a minority – one of the world’s most harmonious gatherings of people. At least a third of the population is of mixed ancestry. According to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, a study conducted in 1984 estimated that there were only 8,244 pure Hawaiians – about 0.7 percent of Hawaii’s total population – a vanishing race. Today, in 2006, some think the number could be less than 5,000.
In 2003, Hawaii’s ethnic population roughly broke down as follows:

Unmixed (except Hawaiian): 739,890 (60.5%)
Caucasian 286,727 (23.5%);
Japanese 203,963 (16.7%);
Filipino 162,542 (13.3%);
Chinese 47,609 (3.9%);
Black 11,587 (0.9%);
Koreans 10,236 (0.8%);
Samoan/Tongan 17,226 (1.4%)
Mixed (except Hawaiian): 223,901 (18.3%)
Hawaiian/Part Hawaiian: 258,490 (21.1%)

Jack London, “- with Hawaii it seems to be love at first sight. Those for whom the islands were made, or who were made for the islands, are swept off their feet in the first moments of meeting, embraced and are embraced.”

Remember…it’s much harder to be a traveler than a tourist. A tourist seeks only an escape that fades – a traveler’s reward lasts a lifetime!

There is no way you can succeed in network marketing, if you do not develop your mind. See, the beauty about it, is that after a few months, things about you will change. It will affect your life; the way you talk, how you make decision and especially, your mindset. You would have met so many people and made a lot of good and bad decisions, made mistakes and then, look for ways to be better. I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday and telling how being involved with this network marketing company has built and developed my mind. I’m saying that because, many network marketing companies operate with different principles. TNI (Tahitian Noni International) makes you have a feeling for the people; you look beyond yourself and see how you can help others.
You’ve got to read books, do researches, watch or listen to motivational tapes that will encourage you and build up or influence your mindset. When I read ‘Your first year in network marketing‘, authored by Mark Yarnell and Rene Reid Yarnell, I saw the stories, experiences and results as a far fetch and unreal thing because it didn’t happen to me. I would say, “I would have done this a different way, I would have said this; so many I would haves. I tell you it was more real to me because it was now my story. I was on the battle field getting shot by rejection bullets, nasty condescending looks and comments and even unconscious, bad remarks. But from Mark and Rene’s book I got a lot of encouragement, ideas on how to do it better, and corrections on the mistakes I made and advice on everything you need to know to succeed in network marketing, such as proven systems for recruiting, training, growing and supporting your downline. They also talked about strategies on how to overcome those first-year obstacles and position you for lifelong success. There are a lot of things you can learn from the book in an easy, step-by-step approach.

You will learn to:
•Deal with rejection
•Recruit and train
•Avoid over managing your downline
•Remain focused
•Stay enthusiastic
•Avoid unrealistic expectations
•Conduct those in-home meetings
•Ease out of another profession

In fact, you owe it to yourself to read this inspiring book!
Doug Wead, former special assistant to the president, the Bush Administration said, “This will be the Bible of Network Marketing.” I totally believe it.

One thing I have really learnt in this Access Marketing business opportunity is that, whatever you do, it’s all about the people not you. It’s very hard for people to see the vision the way you do until it is well presented to them. Sometimes, they still have doubts until they reluctantly or to-you-wrong, try it for themselves . I was sent an e-mail and when I read it, it was like an eye opener. This is it.

No one cares.

Someone once said, “facts tell, stories sell.”

No one cares about your product name before they know what it’s done for you.

No one cares about what’s in your product before they know what it’s done for you.

No one cares about the name of your company before they know what your product’s done for you.

No one cares about the science or scientists’ credentials of your product before they know what’s it’s done for you.

No one cares about how great you, the sales person, thinks your product is before they know what it’s done for you.

No one cares about the boasts, promises and self-aggrandizing statements you or your company make about yourselves and your product before they know what it’s done for you.

No one wants to hear technical explanations and lectures about why your product’s so wonderful before they know what it’s done for you.

Once they hear what it’s done for you, they’ll decide if that matters right now.

Test it for yourself

Some people get irritated by know-it-alls and unnecessary hypes. There were also two illustrations of who you relate to in the mail. Lulu or Fred.

Lulu: “I market freshly harvested, filtered, flash pasteurized and cold filled, the TART MONTMORENCY CHERRY CONCENTRATE that comes in a unique aluminum bottle. The bottle¢s liner protects the concentrate from the outer container…”

Versus:

Fred: “I market a product for someone who has trouble sleeping, and doesn’t want to use drugs, like the way I used to be. Do you know anyone who might like to know about a product like that?”

You may agree with me that, most people would rather talk to Fred because he is thinking of other people and less demanding. He has thrown the ball into the people’s court. Obviously, Lulu is announcing her product to people that have never heard about it before, that have lots of questions in their mind and she expects them to be interested in her product.
No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care. That’s all there is to it.

Many of you already know, but I’m into this really brilliant business opportunity called Access Marketing. I work with the 4th fastest growing company in the world and I’m proud of it; Tahitian Noni International also known as TNI. In the course of the business, we have to do what is called ‘prospecting’. I won’t lie to you, but it’s very painful and hurtful when you are trying to share the opportunity with someone you feel deserves the privilege you also came to appreciate. I was telling my uncle about the different things my group and I went through, while he was in the States and he said somethings that rejuvenated my belief system. He also sent me an email that I want to share with you.
If you want to be successful in life, start hanging out with successful people.

“The road to success is not straight.

There is a curve called Failure,

a loop called Confusion,

speed bumps called Friends,

red lights called Enemies,

caution lights called Family.

You will have flats called Jobs.

But, if you have a spare called Determination,

an engine called Perseverance,

insurance called Faith,

a driver called Jesus Christ, you will make it to a place called success.”

I wish you all well because you have to believe that you can even travel that road for you to succeed. When I read this, I confirmed my determination to go all the way to the top.

I saw this write up that I really liked and decided to share it with you. Here goes:

One night, I had a dream. I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and across the skies flashed scenes from my life. In each scene, I noticed two ste of footprints in the sand. One was mine and one was the Lord’s. When the last scene of my life appeared before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand and to my surprise, I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. And I noticed that it was at the saddest and lowest times of my life. I asked the Lord about it: ” Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why you left my side when I needed you most.” The Lord said, “My precious child, I never left you during your time of trial. Where you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

So you see, you are never alone. He always with you, even when you think you can’t feel him and you say ‘he is not there’. He is always with you.
