Nigeria, we hail thee, our own dear native land! Make us a beautiful nation where no one is oppressed…………………………..
Nigeria, oh! how have we done this past 18 years?
June 12th 1993 promised us that hope that we had longed for, but alas we were robbed in broad daylight by the powers that be.
It was adjudged the freest and fairest election ever to be held in our beloved country.
It was an election whereby Nigerians voted from the North to the South, East and West came out in large numbers to perform their civic duty.
The actualisation of the June 12 election would have brought about remarkable changes in government and in the lives of the people, but its annulment terminated the process through which the change would have come.
18 years later, have we learnt anything?
Can we learn from our past mistakes?
Is there redemption for our past sins?
Any hope for the future generations?
Only time will tell!
