I never would have thought that five years later unilagfaces.com will be putting up another welcome back post. Yes, it’s been a little over 5 years since our first post was put up on this site. All went well until unexpectedly, we went “off air.” We did have some challenges all centred around moving our site to a different host. That was the beginning and then … #@!~ then … the site went down for a while. We did manage to bring back most of the site up again but as you can see, there hasn’t been much activity, until now. This time we are back for GOOD. Yes. For good.
What have we been doing and where have we been all this while? When was the last time we were in touch? Let’s rewind back and start from 2006…
A group of young entrepreneurs from the University Of Lagos come together to team up and leverage on technology and the numerous opportunities available on the internet. Our first collective effort was this blog ‘unilagfaces.com.’ For those who had followed us earlier on you know how successful this blog was. To say the least it was one of the foremost blog sites in Nigeria. From there, we went on to partner with the American Embassy (Commercial department) as the official bloggers to their annual Computer and technology programme tagged CTO. for two years consecutively we were at the annual event and gave live coverage through this blog of the events unfolding there. That’s where we met Jim Ovia, Brian Browne, Dr. Cosmas Maduka and many more. While this was going on, we launched our first digital e-library software – EasyLaw. As of now, we have launched two other world class e-library software after undergoing training as certified infobase Engineers at Jeffersonville Indiana. We have also undergone several other trainings both locally and internationally and set up partnerships outside of Nigeria.
Many, many things have gone on in between … our separation from Zenith Bank, our subsequent court case with a rival software company and many more. As we go on with the work of rebuilding unilagfaces.com, we will fill you in with what has happened and is happening. The world has also moved on. We have seen changes in the economic, political, technological landscapes of the world, even the election of the first black American president.
For us, our focus and goals have remained constant. We are more confident today than we were yesterday of the immense possibilities and opportunities that abound in this country. We are more determined to pursue them and encourage as many young (and old) entrepreneurs that all our dreams are achievable if we are willing to pay the price and follow laid down principles of success without cutting corners.
One thing that we are forever grateful for are our mentors. They are our advisers and guardians in all our business ventures. We are privileged to gather from a wealth of experience of over a hundred years cumulatively from industry experts and professionals who have us at heart to mentor us to our desired goals. They have been the major fulcrum of our successes and our growth.
Many things have changed over the years. We hope to fill you in on all of that as time goes on. Before I sign out, one thing I must do is re-introduce to you all, our highly esteemed readers and friends, the members of the team. Expect nothing but our best and follow us as we work to improve and deliver on that promise. You are all welcome to contribute through comments and direct mails to us. We assure you that we will read each one.
