They say it costs nothing but creates much, and when done well, gives a Midas’ touch. It enriches those who receive it, without impoverishing those who give it. It happens in a flash and the memory sometimes forever lasts.
It creates happiness in the home, produces confidence and enthusiasm on the phone, fosters Good will in prospecting business, and is the guarantee of friends. It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and nature’s best antidote for trouble.
It cannot be bought, begged, borrowed or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good to any one till it is given away. And if, you meet someone who is too weary to give you a smile–leave one of yours.
For no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none left to give. This is because smiles are highly infectious, we catch them like flu. When someone smiles at you, you courteously smile back too. Like a poet wrote “I passed around a corner, and someone saw my grin. When he smiled I realized, that I’d passed it on to him”. A smile like gold has its worth, that’s why your simple smile can travel back and forth. Reasons! Just because it’s contagious.
So as we near the ever remembered September 11, start a smile and don’t leave it undetected, we can quickly start up an epidemic and get the whole world infected. Keep the smile going!
