Hi out there, a friend of mine sent me an off line message some days back. I won’t be surprised if you also got one. You know, offline messages and some kinds of mails have a way of going round from person to person, box to box and country to country. If you are some one who loves the stars like I do (not that I am a freak), it will interest you to note that the planet Mars has been some where around us, just hanging and snooping around really close. So, if you want a first-hand look at the red planet, August is the month. The planet Mars has really been its brightest in this month, looking as large as the full moon. August is almost gone and you might have missed most of the action but don’t miss out on the main one coming up. Don’t go around like most people do; with their heads looking down. Raise it up a while, especially at night time and take a good look at our August visitor; our heavenly neighbour as it pays us a visit. Don’t be scared of any Martians as Mars came all alone with no entourage. Now, make sure you don’t miss the main day on August 27th (actually, that’s tomorrow), when Mars salutes the earth good bye on this ‘state visit.’ At 12:30 am the moon will host Mars on the final parade as it will appear as if the earth has two moons. The red planet will really be close to us, at a distance of about 34.65 million miles away from our green planet. Make sure you don’t miss this parting ceremony as the next time Mars may come this close might be in the year 2287! Well, you might decide to wait for that one if you opt out of this one. I certainly won’t be here waiting with you for it.
