Welcome to another good day of fresh content as usual on unilagfaces. Going through my feeds yesterday, I came across some useful information I think I need to divulge; these scientists are up to it as usual. A new type of computer that mimics the complex interactions in the human brain is being built by UK scientists. The machine, nicknamed the “brain box” which will be constructed at the University of Manchester would gulp £1m. Its the first of its kind in the world and it will be used to help researchers engineer fail-safe electronics. “Our brains keep working despite frequent failures of their component neurons, and this ‘fault-tolerant’ characteristic is of great interest to engineers who wish to make computers more reliable,” one of the scientists said. Another function of the computer will be to help scientists understand how details of complex visual scenes are encoded by the brain. Well, I think my brain is good enough, I don’t need a ‘brain-box’ or do you think otherwise?
