How more annoying can people get? Check this story out.
A man, Allen Heckard, recently filed a lawsuit for $832 million against NBA icon, Michael Jordan(MJ) and Nike founder Phil Knight. The man, who lives in Portland, Oregon, claimed to have been mistaken for MJ almost everyday for the last 15 years.
Isn’t that supposed to be a compliment?
Heckard, apparently, is suing Jordan for defamation and permanent injury, emotional pain and suffering. He is suing Knight for defamation and permanent injury for promoting Jordan and making him one of the world’s most famous athletes.
The funny thing is that Heckard stands almost 6 inches shorter than MJ so I find it pretty amusing that people actually mistake him for the basketball legend.
No doubt, looking at both pictures, they both look alike but that is further accentuated by the fact that Heckhard has his hair shaved like Michael, has an earring on his left ear, and is physically fit as a result of playing a lot of basketball.
Recently KGW-TV caught Heckard wearing blue Air Jordan tennis shoes. Doesn’t that come across as intentionally trying to look like MJ?
NO! he says. “They’re very comfortable shoes to play ball in, I play a lot of basketball and any other shoes I try to play in tend to hurt the bottom of my feet.” said Heckard.
Isn’t it obvious that he (Heckhard) is trying to gain attention? I mean the man literally makes a conscious effort to look like Michael Jordan and then he says he’s suing Jordan for defamation and permanent injury, emotional pain and suffering.
He is sure to lose the case but he sure will gain one thing: ATTENTION. And for him that is the whole point.
Oh for the world of ‘wannabes’.
