Hi there. Yes, as you guessed, this is all about the latest, well, can we call it brouhaha in town (at least in American). To some it’s disgusting. To others, it’s, “what’s the big deal?” I’ve got a right to my opinion. So let’s revisit the issue of gay marriages. I’m going head on. Is it right or wrong? Now before I answer this let me ask you. Who or what determines what is right or wrong. If you can answer this then we are almost half way through. Nowadays I’ll say we more or less pick who determines right or wrong as the situation pleases us. When the government suits us we pick them , if societal vices appeal to us, we go through the path of least resistance. Then there is mother earth or better known as nature. I can hear you, if you are a free thinker. You are probably saying man, don’t forget me. Individuals with this perspective or let’s call it alternative lifestyle( by the way I hate calling them gay because gay people are happy people) have been since time immemorial looked at as abnormal. But do you realize it was just about the middle of the 20th century that gays were viewed as humans. Now what could have happened, what changed psychologists, laymen, the butcher next door and even house wives’ mentality of these individuals? I think society had a great deal to do with this awakening (or scaffolding). It started somewhere around the sixties, when humans were like birds let out of a cage. Virtue became a word that you don’t mention in the neighborhood any more. Of course we fought for our rights, and even the animals’ rights became an issue. We started pulling down our defenses: society, culture, traditions. Institutions like marriage and family were battered blue in the face. We picked up our bags, walked out on mum, and mum in turn let dear old honey know I don’t have to do what he wants because I have rights just like him. This was the age of free love and gradually our long cherished values were eroded The damage was done. The turbulent sixties had gone beyond brain washing everyone and white washing everything. This is beyond rights, but knocks at the basis of manhood and womanhood. I don’t think nature makes mistakes. If you watch carefully mistakes occur because we have interfered with nature and here we go again. Let men be men and women be women – naturally. To me, that’s what makes sense.
