Whew! That was close. Chislow sat back on his seat in the car. He giggled to himself. It was so funny seeing the way the security man screamed three hearty cheers for Ibidapo. Wow! He, Chislow, the son of Ibidapo from his second wife! Unbelievable! How stupid of any one to believe such a lie. This is some thing he is going to tell Leke tonight. It really looked like he was going to enjoy Unilag. My! That taxi driver was really cool.
“Oga, you really be my guy,” Chislow said to the taxi driver. The man did not respond.
“Oga, you no hear me?” Chislow asked again. Still no response. Chislow did not bother to speak to the man again. They both sat in silence for the remainder of the journey. Chislow kept on having this queer feeling about the taxi driver. This man certainly gave him goose pimples. Chislow’s phone rang. It was Debs.
“ Hello?” Chislow said.
“Are you in school yet?” a soft spoken female voice asked.
“Not yet girl,” was Chislow’s answer. “Where, will we meet?” He asked
“I don’t know,” she answered.
“Don’t worry. I’ll find a way to get in touch with you,” Chislow replied.
“Don’t forget tomorrow is Nneka’s birthday. If you forget, wahala dey O,” Debs told Chislow.
“Hey! You know I don’t forget such things. You know I’m the main man,” Chislow boasted.
“Alright main man. Remember my credit, you haven’t bought me my recharge card,” Debs said with a voice as smooth as silk.
“Consider it done girl,” Chislow answered back.
“Take care of your self main man,” Debs replied.
“You do the same girl,” Chislow cooed.
“Yeye girl. Me give you credit, when you don’t want to play ball. Bill Gates no be my papa,” Chislow said aloud.
“He He He He He Ha Ha,” bursted out the taxi driver.
“You dis boy, you be correct guy!” the taxi driver said. Chislow was surprised, this was the man that refused to answer him a few moments back. This man certainly was making him feel uncomfortable. Chislow faked a laugh. There just was something about this man. “Oga, I go drop here,” Chislow quickly responded. The taxi was close to the Senate building.
“Na here you will drop? No be engineering?” the taxi driver asked.
“What?! How did you know that…” Chislow did not bother to complete his question. He had had enough for a day. The taxi driver chuckled, called Chislow by name and said, “Greet Leke and Tara for me. Don’t bother paying. We’ll meet again. Don’t forget that Dayo must fall is watching you!”
