This is the continuing story of the fired blogger. You probably must have read my earlier post about how I was fired from my INDUSTRIAL attachment PLACEMENT UNIT (IT). Well, the question now is, what next? The only logical thing to do was to go to school and check out the modalities of changing from one IT office to another. These were the thoughts on my mind when I went to sleep in the early hours of this morning. The next thing I heard was “Hey, wake up! It is 6′oclock.”, my talking alarm clock croaked. That was fast, I thought, I had barely slept for goodness sake. Ooooooohhhhhhhhhh, I groaned, but still had to get up on my feet. Slowly but smartly, I did all I had to do to get ready for school. I hopped into the car and hoped that I would breeze through the modalities of changing my office attachment. I went to see the Lecturer in charge of the industrial attachment scheme but he wasn’t in the office. I waited for a few minutes, then I sighted from a distance a “short” lecturer… ’sorry’, where are my manners, I mean ‘a vertically challenged…’ Hey! you didn’t hear this from me, I’m becoming too loose with my tongue. Who knows, maybe that was why I was fired! I will be in trouble if this ever gets published. Back to my Lecturer story. When he came closer, I greeted him warmly and he replied in the same vein. I followed him into his office and I told him what my predicament was. ”I need to change from the firm I was attached to for my industrial attachment training to another firm”, I said. He leaned back on his chair and he said… I was patiently listening to his homile when suddenly I was distracted by a rythymic sound. Where was it coming from ? I thought. Was he knocking his feet against the table, exasperated that this young man is forcing him to deliver a lecture on industrial attachment so early in the morning? Oh, no! my fears were unfounded. The sound was coming from an adjacent room where a Carpenter was exercising his superiority over the wood he was working on. Well, back to business. The Lecturer explained that he would not advice me to change my registered attachment office, moreso, the process of changing is not only difficult but very labyrinthian, and it involves a lot of bureaucracy. Then I thought I would change informally, but the Lecturer, as if he was reading my mind, said, ”if you try to change without the consent of the school authorities, you can be made to face a disciplinary committee”. ”This is bad”, I thought, ”how then will I get to change my attachment to this firm” ? This thought was tossing on my mind as I stepped out of his office. Stay blogged for the continuing story of the fired blogger.

As debby commented, yes it is wise to watch our tongue, especially talking to those in authority, but one can’t just keep quite everytime, we need to speak out to. Otherwise, our else would they know where the shoe hurts.
