It is really hard to believe that Manchester United could fall in a 3-0 defeat against the Blues, who were on their way to a back to back historical display in the history of the English football. Since 1930, no London Club has won the English Premiership back to back. Kudos to the efforts of teamwork and the instructions of an award winning football manager, who took his time to keep to his word of bringing back the trophy to Stamford Bridge. Like Mourinho will always say when his team wins “Everybody wants Chelsea to lose a game. But since we have top players and a top manager, history can’t deny us the trophy.”
From William Gallas’ early opener, Joe Cole’s exquisite second to Riccy Carvalho’s fantastic third, this was truly a blues day that would stay long in the history of English football.
Anyway, when it came to the crunch, Mourinho reverted to his tried and trusted 4-3-3 team selection, which made United to really find it difficult to score a goal. The match made the English football fans to stay still for a while when their world cup striker and hope to bring the world-cup to England was stretched out of the field of play. If only the Blues did this in the Champions league, they would have been the one to play their one time rival Arsenal in the Finals.
