President Olusegun Obasanjo commissioned some buildings in the University of Lagos on the 6th of March 2006 as part of the re-launch of the $500m endowment fund. One of these buildings is the Afe Babalola Auditorium which was said to have cost a whooping N100 million. Yesterday, it was very surprising to find out that a huge portion of the windows on the side of the building facing both the Mass Communication department and the Staff School road had collapsed. While the cause of the damage is yet to be ascertained, students speculated that the damages were caused by either the heavy down pour or strong wind. The school authorities are currently carrying out investigations to determine the real cause of the damage.
